Dr. Redding was born and raised in Asheboro. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Howard Redding and the grandson of the late Dr. John O. Redding, Jr.

A graduate of Davidson College and The Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Dr. Redding completed his residency training at the Carilion Health System in Roanoke, Virginia, where he was a chief resident. He is Board Certified in Family Practice and a member in good standing of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

He is married to Dr. Becca Redding and they have two daughters, Maggie and Elizabeth.
