Dr. James Kinlaw was a co-founder, along with Dr. Larry Simpson, of White Oak Family Physicians in 1977. Dr. Kinlaw obtained his undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University, his Medical Degree from the University of Virginia, and completed his postgraduate Family Practice residency at Riverside Hospital/Medical College of Virginia. He has been Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice since 1977, and has remained a member in good standing by completing continuing medical education requirements, and successfully passing all re-certification examination every seven years. He has served as both Chief-of-Staff and Chairman of the Department of Family Practice at Randolph Hospital.

Dr. Kinlaw is married to the former Wendy Yeatts of Raleigh, North Carolina. Dr. Kinlaw is the proud father of two daughters, Whitney and Mallory.
