Dr. John Cameron grew up in Gastonia, N.C. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Cameron also received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 1979. After graduation from medical school he completed a three-year Family Practice Residency at Rockford, Illinois. Dr. Cameron began his practice in Asheboro in 1982. He is Board Certified in Family Practice and is a member in good standing of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Cameron is married to the former Susan Dreblow of Minneapolis, Minnesota. They have two children, Ross and Paige.
